 Diagnostic Imaging
Texas Health Rockwall proudly offers sophisticated diagnostic technology for enhanced patient care. Imaging services are supported by certified and experienced radiologists for the interpretation and rapid reporting of diagnostic imaging test results. Their professionalism helps maintain high quality service standards for all patients.

Our Digital Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) technology stores digital images, allows viewing from multiple sites and enables physicians to collaborate to coordinate care.

CT Scans

Our 64-slice CT scanner 3D imaging revolutionizes how physicians can detect and rapidly diagnose disease. 64-slice means, that for every 360 degree rotation of the xray tube, 64 slices (pictures) can be obtained. This allows for much quicker scan time which is extremely beneficial when scanning pediatric patients.

Fluoroscopy

Fluoroscopyis an imaging system used by doctors to obtain a real time moving picture of the inside of the body. Using X-ray technology, fluoroscopy takes and displays several images of the inside of the body per second. This creates a live movie of the patient’s internal structures that doctors can use to look for signs and symptoms of a disease or condition, enabling them to make a diagnosis. In addition to diagnoses, physicians may also use this process to guide procedures such as injections into joints or minimally invasive surgeries.

MRI

The Radiology and Imaging department offers high definition MRI scans of the whole body. Our open-bore scanner supports revolutionary patient care through a unique bore design. Over 60 percent of exams are completed with the patient’s head outside of the bore, improving comfort and easing issues of claustrophobia. With a bore opening slightly more than two feet in diameter, the system also provides room for larger patients.

Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine is a medical specialty used to diagnose and treat diseases in a safe and painless way. The procedures often identify abnormalities very early in the progression of a disease—long before some medical problems are apparent.  Diagnostic testing includes:

Hida Scans
Bone Scans
Thyroid Scans
Cardiac Stress Imaging

Ultrasound

Diagnostic Ultrasound is a medical imaging technique that uses inaudible sound waves to visualize organs and tissues of the body. The scans are performed by a sonographer. Besides diagnosis, the Radiologist can perform procedures such as biopsies with the guidance of ultrasound.
